Israel-Hamas war row: Gaza’s next big threat: Cholera- Humanity torn apart in Gaza: UN Agencies and Non-profits organization warns

Israel-Hamas’ war is tearing humanity apart, says WHO, this war is being fought on many fronts simultaneously, now there is a fear from Gaza that assume that Gaza’s next big threat is Cholera, infectious diseases may occur in Gaza strip. Humanitarian organizations have warned that if aid is not allowed in, the next major threat to the Gaza Strip could be deadly water-borne diseases.

This danger would have increased further after Israel issued an evacuation order for 1.1 million Palestinians in the northern part of Gaza. Why would so many people gather at one place and there would be a shortage of water and food items.

In such a situation, big questions are being raised at the global level in this war, why due to this the world has become two mountains, on one side America, Europe and some Arab countries and on the other side Iran, Turkey and Muslim countries.

But amidst all this, the death toll of Gaza’s people is increasing day by day.

UN and Non-profits warnings on the Gaza situation:

Global non-profit organization Oxfam says that due to lack of water and sanitation, people are forced to sleep on the streets, in shops, in mosques, in their cars or on the streets, their families living in 200 square meter apartments of about One has to live with 100 people and also counts himself among the lucky ones.

Meanwhile, hygiene products have disappeared from some open supermarkets and the price of water sold by private vendors running small solar-powered desalination facilities has doubled since October 7 – when Israel responded to a surprise attack by Hamas. Started bombing Gaza. Earlier their price was $7.40, but now their price has gone up to $15.

Oxfam and UN agencies have warned that the collapse of water and sanitation services could lead to the spread of cholera and other deadly infectious diseases if humanitarian aid is not delivered urgently.

After Hamas announced a complete blockade of the Palestinian territory following the attack, Israel cut off its water pipeline to Gaza, as well as fuel and electricity provisions powering water and sewage plants

Most of Gaza’s 65 sewage pumping stations and all five of its waste water treatment facilities have been forced to cease operations. According to Oxfam, untreated sewage is now being released into the sea, while some roads are also littered with solid waste along with bodies waiting to be buried.

Desalination plants have stopped working and municipalities are unable to pump water to residential areas due to power shortages. Some people in Gaza rely on salty tap water, which is contaminated with sewage and seawater, or have resorted to drinking seawater, while others are forced to drink water from field wells.

The UN says that currently Gazans have only three liters of water per person per day to meet all their needs including drinking, washing clothes, cooking and flushing toilets. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a person is recommended 50-100 liters of water per day to meet his basic health needs. which is not available to them?

Israel declared war on the Islamist group Hamas on October 8, a day after waves of its fighters broke through the heavily fortified border and killed more than 1,400 people, most of them civilians. The relentless Israeli bombings since have flattened neighbourhoods and left at least 2,670 people dead in the Gaza Strip, the majority ordinary

UN chief Antonio Guterres called on Wednesday for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza to ease the “epic human suffering”. On the same day, the US vetoed a UN Security Council resolution, supported by most other members, demanding a humanitarian pause in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.

Four out of 34 hospitals are no longer operational, according to the UN health agency, as others overflow with injured patients and families in need of shelter. “The conditions are ripe for the spread of a number of diarrheal and skin diseases,” Brennan said, with ripple effects to be felt in the region.

In 2022, cholera spread across Syria and Lebanon, killing at least 97 people. While an epidemic has not been registered in Palestinian territories in decades, “

These days getting aid in Gaza people is vital”, the WHO representative added. “The ball is in the court of the political leaders who have to elevate humanitarian needs as a priority. We are ready to go, but we have to be given unhindered, secure, protected passage to help people in need.”

In such a situation, the next big danger of Gaza: Cholera, infectious diseases i.e. cholera, infectious diseases can be infected.

We all know very well that war cannot be the solution to anything. No one knows when the Ukraine-Russia war that started last one and a half years will end and a new war in the world i.e. Israel-Gaza war has started.

Was the outcome of the Ukraine-Russia war less and for the countries to understand to what extent wars can be dangerous? On one hand, Ukraine was completely destroyed in the Ukraine-Russia war and humanity was torn to shreds in the Gaza war, which is happening there today. The people are in need of even a single drop of water in Gaza.
