The Department of Renewable Energy (MNRE) uses the Pradhan MantriKisanUrja Suraksha evamUtthaanMahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme, under which funding is provided for the construction of independent solar pumps and solar-powered agricultural pumps. Farmers can also install solar power plants connected to the grid up to 2 MW. The system is used by designated provincial government departments and details of all such designated departments are available on the MNRE website at www.mnre.gov.in.
Following the launch of the program, the Department noticed that some fraudulent websites claimed to be the PM-KUSUM registration site. Such unauthorized websites collect money and information from people who like the Scheme. To avoid any public losses, MNRE has issued public notices in the past, advising the general public not to deposit any registration fees or share any personal information on such websites. When complaints are received, action is taken against the perpetrators and a few fraudulent registration sites are blocked.
In addition to fraudulent websites, WhatsApp and other methods are also used to mislead potential beneficiaries. Therefore, the Ministry has strongly advised that people interested in the PM-KUSUM Scheme should check the authenticity of the website before providing any personal information or investing. The Department also advised you not to click on any unconfirmed or suspicious link obtained through Whatsapp / SMS which they claim the PM-KUSUM program registration site.
