The Department of Coal has organized the National Mineral Congress in Bhubaneswar today with the support of the Power Ministry, Ministry of Steel and Mines Ministry. Addressing Congress in visual mode, Shri Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary, Coalition, wished all the best to the National Minerals Congress and hopes to achieve a significant result through stakeholder negotiations. Addressing the National Conference on Minerals as the Chief Guest, Shri VK Tiwari, Extraordinary Secretary, Coalition, said the Department had prepared a National Mission document to achieve 100 MT Coal Gasification by 2030. “Coal burning is tomorrow. It is considered a clean method compared to burning coal. The installation of gas makes it easier to use the chemical components of coal, ”he said.
Shri Tiwari said technological advances provide greater coal discovery, flexibility in mining operations, increased productivity, greater security and reduced costs. “Companies need to use new technologies and build digital infrastructure to support current and future needs. There is a need to ensure the efficient use of technology in this field, ”said the additional secretary.
The additional secretary referred to a coal road map on hydrogen and said India’s hydrogen demand is likely to increase to 11.7 million tons by 2030 from 6.7 million tons a year from now. “Refined and fertilized environments are the main sources of hydrogen gas. It can be produced by coal in processes during the supply of coal gas, ”he added. Commenting on the challenges in the aluminum sector, Shri Tiwari said India has been blessed with about 3,896 million tons of bauxite resources to meet its future needs but added that the Indian reserve comprises only 17 percent of its resources, which is one million tonnes. -656. “There is a need for such resources to be converted into certified sources in order to improve bauxite production. We also need to come up with plans to use scrap to make quality products, ”he said.
Shri Tiwari said conferences like this provide an opportunity to discuss and improve the sector as a whole. “We have started trading in this sector, which shows results. Double authorization removed; an online mining allocation process and gasification has been promoted. We are taking steps to support the sector, ”he said. The National Mineral Congress organized by the Indian National Committee of the World Mining Congress today saw the role of industry experts from 20 prominent companies. The discussion focused on challenges in the aluminum and steel sectors, coal gas installation and the carbon to hydrogen road map. On Saturday, delegates will be visiting the JSPL Coal Station in Angul.
