Shahid Kapoor said his film Jersey taught him that ‘anything can happen in life’

Actor Shahid Kapoor spoke about the performance of his last Jersey box saying ‘we have a lot to learn together’. Speaking at the event while attending the IIFA Rocks event in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Island Etihad Arena, Shahid said although the film is close to his heart, it has taught him that ‘anything can happen in life’.

Jersey, a cricket drama, was released from the theater on April 22 this year after several delays due to Covid-19. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu blockbuster with the same name. In addition to Shahid, the Jersey also played Mrunun Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Directed by GowthamTinnanuri, the film is directed by Allu Aravind, Dil Raju and Aman Gill.

“The jersey is close to my heart. Jersey has found great love. But… It’s been two years since Covid-19 and we need to understand how the audience feels. It’s time for us all to learn. “Shahid was quoted as saying.

At the event, when asked if he was disappointed with his jersey performance, Shahid said, “Not at all”. Although the actor gained fame for his performance as a cricketer who once tried to get his past fame through his son, the film had a strange run in the ticket window. The film opened at ₹ 4 crore and collected about R1.5-1.7 crore on the fourth day of release, which took the total value of its four-day collection to a little over R15.5 crore.

Shahid will be performing his first digital drama with two filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK series, Farzi. The upcoming series was created and written by Raj and DK. The series was co-produced by Sister R Menon, Suman Kumar and Hussain Dalal. The show also includes Vijay Sethupathi, AmolPalekar, Regina Cassandra, Rashi Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Zakir Hussain, KubbraSait, and Bhuvan Arora. Farzi is part of Prime Video’s slate of films and movies.
