U.S. President Joe Biden told Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during a speech on Friday that he was angry over the assassination of former leader Shinzo Abe, who was shot dead while campaigning for parliamentary elections.
“President Biden called on Prime Minister Kishida of Japan today to express his outrage, condolences and sympathy for the recent assassination and violence of former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo,” the White House said in a statement.
