The victory not only marked India’s 14th T20I series win at home but also propelled them to a new record of the most T20I wins, surpassing arch-rivals Pakistan.
Australia, after winning the toss and opting to field, faced a resilient Indian batting lineup. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad provided a solid start, contributing 50 runs for the first wicket. Despite some setbacks, an explosive inning by Rinku Singh (46 off 29) and valuable contributions from others guided India to a competitive total of 174/9 in 20 overs.
In response, Australia made a strong start, with the pair of Travis Head and Josh Philippe adding 40 runs in just three overs.
