Virat Kohli knock keeps IPL prospects in Bangalore team alive

Virat Kohli also scored his 73rd goal in 54 appearances and led the Royal Challengers Bangalore in an eight-point victory over the Gujarat Titans on Thursday, keeping his team’s hopes alive in the play-offs. Setting 169 goals for them to win their last league game, Kohli opened the innings and also broke four fours and six to give Bangalore a place to chase the sum and move up to fourth place.

Kohli has had a rough season at his level, including three ducks in the tournament. The knockout was his second fifty in 14 IPL innings, when he skipped 7,000 runs in the franchise.

Bangalore must wait as Delhi Capitals, with the best level of net run, could equalize points and also secure fourth place if they beat, the lower team Mumbai Indians in their final game on Saturday.
