Gurgaon: Tesla Power India is proud to unveil ReStore, India’s leading refurbished battery brand, championing self-reliance, skill development, and green technology. Spearheaded by Tesla Power India Private Limited, headquartered in Gurgaon with global headquarters in Delaware, USA, ReStore revolutionizes the battery industry landscape with its state-of-the-art Electro-Chemical Battery Enhancement Process (EBEP).
In a groundbreaking initiative, Tesla announces plans to establish 5000 “ReStore Battery Refurbishing Centers” in India by 2025, with over 500 centers already operational nationwide. This strategic expansion underscores Tesla Power India’s commitment to the principles of a Circular Economy and Sustainable Environment.
The proprietary EBEP technology significantly prolongs the lifespan of Lead acid batteries, including tall tubular inverter batteries and UPS VRLA batteries, offering a cost-effective solution that extends battery life by 1 to 2 years through refurbishment. ReStore batteries are sold to customers at nearly half the cost of new inverter batteries, accompanied by a warranty.
The launch of ReStore aligns with the “Battery Waste Management Rules 2022,” with Battery Refurbishing recognized as an approved business activity by the CPCB. This regulatory shift is expected to catalyze the establishment of approximately 30,000 battery refurbishment centers in India, generating employment opportunities for over 100,000 individuals.
With around 10 crore lead acid batteries discarded and replaced annually in India, costing the economy Rs. 40,000 crore, this strategic initiative addresses economic strain and environmental hazards associated with improper disposal, in line with the Indian government’s commitment to promoting circular economy and sustainability.
