Prabhas’ highly anticipated action drama, Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire, is set to make a strong opening at the box office, with an impressive first-day advance booking of ₹48.94 crore, according to a report on Sacnilk.com. Despite concerns about screen sharing with another major release, Dunki, Salaar’s advance booking numbers indicate a robust start at the box office.
The report reveals that more than 22 lakh tickets for 16,593 shows were sold ahead of Salaar’s opening day on Friday. Telugu shows alone accounted for around 17 lakh tickets, valued at ₹38.25 crore. Additionally, Hindi shows saw the sale of over 2 lakh tickets worth ₹5.62 crore, while Tamil shows contributed around ₹1.9 crore in ticket sales.
The Salaar vs. Dunki controversy had surfaced in recent days, with industry stakeholders expressing concerns about fair screen sharing. The makers of Salaar took a stance by deciding not to screen the film in PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas theaters in the south, alleging that these multiplex chains favored Dunki over Salaar. The spokesperson for Hombale Films stated that PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas had promised equal showcasing for both films, a promise they allegedly did not honor.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel, known for his work on KGF, features Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, with Shruti Haasan as the female lead. The film, set in the fictional city of Khansaar, revolves around the story of Deva and Vardha, played by Prabhas and Sukumaran, respectively. The advance booking figures suggest a promising start for Salaar, showcasing the immense anticipation and excitement among audiences for this high-profile release.
