Former Bigg Boss 2 contestant Payal Rohatgi has extended her support to filmmaker Sajid Khan, whose performance in Bigg Boss 16 is being widely criticized. Sajid has previously been accused of sexually abusing several women and Salman Khan’s reality show is the first time he has had a public platform since the allegations surfaced in 2018.
Payal wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Sajid Khan did wrong to 6 women when they told in public. He was scolded by everyone and publicly humiliated for his actions. Now 6 women can take him to court. But let me put it on record, if even murderers were given the right to reform according to Mahatma Gandhi’s values, then even Sajid Khan here has the right to live. He has the right to earn money. He has the right to repent.” Payal also apparently took a dig at Mandan Karimi, who was among those who criticized Sajid’s participation. “Let him fight for his right. You oppose him but don’t make it a drama to leave Bollywood.”

She also shared part of Mandan’s statements which read, “This (Bollywood) is no place to work, it has no respect for women.” The Lock Up contestant shared the post and added, “You should also not stay in Iran because women are not respected there either.”
In an interview Mandana said that MeToo cannot achieve much because people tend to be selfish and look after their own benefits. “It makes me sad.” To be honest, that’s also why I haven’t worked for the past seven months. I don’t work anymore. I didn’t go to any audition. I don’t want to work in Bollywood. I don’t want to be involved in an industry where there is no respect for women,” she said.
