Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain & walked with Rahul Gandhi

Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker on Thursday joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain at the Congress and walked with Rahul Gandhi. The actor arrived in Indore on Wednesday and was scheduled to walk with Rahul Gandhi this morning. With Swara Bhasker, the list of Bollywood presence in Bharat Yatra grows with Pooja Bhatt, Sushant Singh, Rashmi Desai, Riya Sen and Amol Palekar joining the yatra.

Swara Bhasker, known for her anti-BJP views, extended support for the yatra when it began, praising Rahul Gandhi’s efforts despite electoral defeats, trolling and personal attacks. “Credit where it’s due.. Though electoral defeats, trolling, personal attacks and constant criticism are ineffective, @RahulGandhi has not succumbed to communal rhetoric or sensationalist politics. Given the situation of this country, efforts like @bharatjodo’s are commendable!” Swara tweeted in October.

The BJP recently alleged that actors are being paid for their “guest appearances” in the yatra, a claim vehemently denied by Pooja Bhatt, who dated Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad. Maharashtra BJP leader Nitesh Rane shared a screenshot of an alleged WhatsApp message calling for actors to participate in their own time slot. The Congress also dismissed the BJP’s claims and said those who joined the yatra stood for the cause.
