Addressing a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra on Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi switched off his microphone twice to show what would happen to opposition leaders in Parliament. “We have started Bharat Jodo Yatra because the media may not be in a position to give us notice. And look what happened to us in Parliament,” Rahul Gandhi said as he switched off the microphone.
Rahul Gandhi continued to speak with the microphone turned off and then when he turned the microphone on he said, “At least we have control here. In Parliament they will just turn it off in 2 minutes. We will continue to watch. If you are talking on the ban note, turn off the microphone. If you are talking about the Chinese invasion, turn off the microphone.” “Keep saying what you want. But nobody will hear anything,” said Rahul Gandhi. As chants of ‘ED-ED’ came from the audience, Rahul Gandhi said, “It is there, but no one is afraid of ED.”
Accepting the BJP government’s Agnipath plan, he said, “You can serve the country for four years. After four years, you can no longer be a patriot. Go home after four years, switch off the microphone. This is Agniveer.” “PM Modi says there was no Chinese invasion. So what are the Indian and Chinese sides talking about? There have been 22 rounds of talks. That is the situation in the country. That is why we have removed the yatra,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Regarding the investments coming from Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi said that these projects will be allotted to two to three industrialists who are friends of the Prime Minister. “These people were given ports, infrastructure, telecommunications and agriculture,” Gandhi asserted. “Don’t be afraid of anything. I am not talking about Narendra Modi or RSS. I am talking about everything. And if you are not afraid of anything, you will never hate anything. This is my message to the youth of Nanded. Work for the country,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Maharashtra on Monday. On Wednesday he went with his companions from Shankarnagar area of Biloli to Naigaon and proceeded to Krushnoor. NCP leaders Sharad Pawar, Suprita Sule, Jayant Patil and Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray will join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra on Friday.
