Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Chhattisgarh and Telangana, Unveils Major Development Projects

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a visit to Chhattisgarh and Telangana on October 3, 2023, during which he will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of several significant development projects aimed at bolstering infrastructure, industries, and public services in both states.

Chhattisgarh Visit Highlights:

NMDC Steel Ltd’s Steel Plant at Nagarnar: The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the NMDC Steel Ltd’s Steel Plant at Nagarnar in Bastar district. This greenfield project, constructed at a cost of over Rs 23,800 crore, is poised to produce high-quality steel. It is expected to generate employment opportunities for thousands of individuals, both directly within the plant and indirectly through ancillary and downstream industries. This initiative is set to position Bastar on the global steel map and promote socio-economic development in the region.

Railway Infrastructure Development: In line with the vision of enhancing rail connectivity and infrastructure across India, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several rail projects in Chhattisgarh. These include the inauguration of the new rail line between Antagarh & Taroki and the rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara.

The foundation stone will also be laid for the Boridand – Surajpur rail line doubling project and the redevelopment of Jagdalpur Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Additionally, the Prime Minister will flag off the Taroki – Raipur DEMU Train Service. These rail initiatives aim to improve connectivity in tribal regions of the state, boosting local development and economic growth.

National Highway-43 Road Upgradation: The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation a road upgradation project from ‘Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh – Jharkhand Border section’ of National Highway-43. This upgraded road will enhance connectivity in the region, benefiting local residents.

Telangana Visit Highlights:

Telangana Super Thermal Power Project: In a significant step towards increasing power generation and energy efficiency, the Prime Minister will dedicate the first 800 MW Unit of phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project by NTPC to the nation. This project is expected to provide cost-effective power to Telangana, contributing to the state’s economic development. It will also be one of the most environmentally compliant power stations in the country.

Railway and Electrification Projects: The Prime Minister will inaugurate rail projects to bolster Telangana’s rail infrastructure, including the new Railway Line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, and the electrification project between Dharmabad – Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar – Kurnool. These projects aim to enhance connectivity, improve average train speeds, and promote eco-friendly rail transport in the region. The inauguration of the Siddipet – Secunderabad – Siddipet train service is also on the agenda, benefiting local rail commuters.

Health Infrastructure Expansion: In a significant effort to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Telangana, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) across the state under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. These CCBs will be constructed in various districts, augmenting critical care facilities and healthcare services, ultimately benefiting the people of Telangana.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Chhattisgarh and Telangana underscores the government’s commitment to boosting development across states and ensuring inclusive growth, improved connectivity, and enhanced public services.
