Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Cabinet Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Communications and Railways will probably open the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Center Leh, Extension Center Kargil and the IT Enabled Incubation Center for Handicraft and Handloom Sector 17 May 2022. the inauguration ceremony was held at the NIELIT Campus Leh honored by Shs. R K Mathur Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh, Sh. JamyangTseringNamgyal, UT MP for Ladakh, Sh. Saugat Biswas, Secretary to the IT Commission, UT of Ladakh and Drs. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director-General of NIELIT. Sh. Feroz Ahmad Khan, Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil and Drs. Jaideepkumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, MeitY is online.
Drs. Madan Mohan Tripathi, DG NIELIT welcomed the Guest of Honor and other dignitaries and thanked MeitY for supporting the opening of the NIELIT Centers in Leh, Kargil and the establishment of the IT Enabled Incubation Center in Leh.
NIELIT institutions introduced
The Minister of Trade Unions, Shs. AshwiniVaishnaw, while presenting the NIELIT Centers in Leh, Kargil and the Incubation Center in Leh, reiterated the Prime Minister’s commitment to the development of the UT in Ladakh. He informed that after the repeal of Article 370 and the creation of a new UT, the development process in this area has opened up in many ways. Any proposal related to IT Education, Training, Incubation development for Ladakh UT will be approved immediately by the Department of Electrical Technology and Information Technology. He also commended NIELIT for initiating the Leh and Kargil Centers and setting up the IT Enabled Incubation Center at a time when recording needs to be accelerated.
The minister also explained that in line with the vision of the esteemed Prime Minister to provide resources, the entire UT of Ladakh will be covered by telephone. Even if there are ten houses at the top of the hill a connection will be provided. The communications department is working with various available technological solutions as an alternative to optical fiber and once completed and regulatory requirements are set, installation will be provided in all rooms not only in UT of Ladakh but in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir initially. section.
Atam-nirbhar Bharat
He also announced that in line with Atam-nirbhar Bharat’s view of the Prime Minister, the 5G traditional stack is ready to be used for the development of BSNL towers and the first phase will be launched in September 2022 and by 2023, all hilly states such as UT in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh etc. would have upgraded the BSNL towers.
The minister stressed that the Leh rail network is critical to the long-term development of the long-term UT in Ladakh. Many options are being considered and the Indian government hopes that with the continued efforts of all stakeholders, it will become a reality soon. The Cabinet Minister announced that the hydrogen train promoted by Hon’ble LG, UT of Ladakh and other representatives of Ladakh has become a reality and production has begun. Although this train comes to Leh over time but this would always be Ladakh’s gift to the nation.
LG Sh. R K Mathur thanked NIELIT Leh for making it an independent institution that will play a key role in increasing IT capacity in the smallest UT in the country. He emphasized that NIELIT Leh, in addition to conducting his regular studies, had contributed to UT Digital’s Digital Literacy in Ladakh. He pointed out that local professionals working in the Wood and Handloom industry after receiving training at the IT Enabled Incubation Center will benefit greatly from learning digital marketing skills, business and packaging skills. Through this program their art will not only be limited to domestic markets but may also enter the global market.
Sh. Saugat Biswas, Secretary to the IT Commissioner, UT in Ladakh has announced that the CNC router is one of a kind and a 3-D waste printer located at the Incubation Center founded by NIELIT and the IT-based IT Department in Ladakh sponsored by MeitY will help. professionals in improving the quality of their products.Sh. Feroz Ahmad Khan, Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil welcomed the opening of the NIELIT Center in Kargil where the local people of Kargil will benefit. He also confirmed that all support will be provided by LAHDC Kargil to establish the IT Enabled Incubation Center in Kargil as well.
Sh. JamyangTseringNamgyal, a Member of Parliament for UT in Ladakh has praised the support provided by the esteemed Prime Minister at UT which is growing rapidly in Ladakh. He was very grateful for the efforts made by NIELIT at the Leh Center where so far more than 8000 participants have benefited from various short / long term training programs in the IECT field. Unique and unique IT has enabled the Incubation Center to operate in the field of Handicraft and Handloom will go a long way in promoting local artisans.
