The Minister of Education and Skills Development and Entrepreneurship today delivered a valedictory speech at the 49th IFTDO International Conference hosted in New Delhi on the theme of the Strategic Action Plan: A Road to a New Age.Speaking on skills development, he said under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, there is a great deal of pressure on skills development in all sectors. He highlighted the role of the Capacity Building Commission of India in looking at the best ways to build skills and create partnerships between different sectors.
Speaking at the event, he spoke about the role of technology such as simplification and disruption of society and the economy. He said because of the rapidly changing world, we must prepare our workers for the challenges of the 21st century through a comprehensive skills strategy.
Shri Pradhan also spoke about the National Education Policy (NEP) and its impetus for creating a partnership between education and skills. He said while the NEP catered for students from 3 to 23 years of age in the formal education system, we must come up with new strategies, strategic skills, skills training and skills development for those who are not part of formal education. system.
