The Agricultural labourers recorded a 1 to 20 point increase in 19 state of India

Indian Consumer Price Index for Agricultural and Rural Workers (Base: 1986-87 = 100) for April, 2022 increased by 10 points each to stand at 1108 (One hundred and eighteen) and 1119 (One thousand one hundred points and nineteen) respectively. In the case of Agricultural workers, it recorded an increase of 1 to 20 points in 19 countries while the Province of Tamilnadu recorded a decrease of 7 points. Tamilnadu with 1275 points is at the top of the table with Himachal Pradesh with 880 points standing at the bottom.

A major contribution to the increase in the general index of Agricultural Labor and Rural Laborers came from the food group to 7.32 & 7.13 points respectively due to rising prices of rice, wheat-atta, jowar, bajra, ragi, vegetables and fruitsetc.In the case of Domestic Workers, it recorded an increase of 2 to 19 points in 19 countries and the Province of Tamilnadu recorded a decrease of 7 points. Tamilnadu with 1263 points is at the top of the table with 931 points Himachal Pradesh standing at the bottom.

Among the provinces, the highest increase in the Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Workers was achieved by Kerala (20 points) and Domestic Workers by Kerala & West Bengal States (19 points each) mainly due to rising prices for rice, pulses, fish fresh / dried, vegetables and fruits, wheat-atta, bajra, firewood, cotton cloth (mill), plastic chappal / shoes, etc. In contrast, the decline in the Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Laborers & Rural Laborers was recorded. by the Province of Tamilnadu (7 points each) mainly due to falling prices for rice, fresh / dried fish, onions, vegetables and fruits, etc.

Indicate inflation based on CPI-AL and CPI-RL standing at 6.44% & 6.67% in April, 2022 compared to 6.09% and 6.33% respectively in March, 2022 and 2.66% and -2.94% respectively for the corresponding month. of last year. Similarly, food inflation stood at 5.29% and 5.35% in April, 2022 compared to 4.91% and 4.88% respectively in March, 2022 and 1.24% and 1.54% respectively in the previous month.
