Giving bail to Indrani Mukerjea, the Supreme Court ruled that even if 50% of the witnesses were acquitted, the case would not be completed anytime soon and ruled that he had spent 6.5 years in prison. Since his arrest, he has told the court that the case will not end soon as 185 of the 253 witnesses have not been investigated.

December 2019: Special CBI judge rejects bail application
January 1, 2020: Indrani submits bail for the fifth time. In this case, he states that the evidence was presented by the prosecutor about him
June 2020: Pending bail application, IndraniMukerjea seeks temporary bail for 45 days
July 2020: CBI Special Court rejects interim bail application for 45 days
August 5, 2020: Indrani’s fifth bail application is also denied
May 2021: Indrani Mukherjee seeks temporary bail again, citing Covid-19 epidemic
July 2021: Judge dismisses interim bail application
November 16, 2021: Bombay High Court rejects Indrani bail application
January 23, 2022: Bombay official rejects Indrani second bail application
