ICAT has signed a MOU with Northcap University Gurugram to strengthen industry-academia partnership

The International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Northcap University (NCU), Gurugram to strengthen industry-academia partnership for conducting joint short- and medium-term courses and research on EVs and related emerging technologies under industry requirements. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ms. Pamela Tikku, Acting Director, ICAT, and Prof. Nupur Prakash, Vice-Chancellor, NKJ, in the presence of other senior officials from both the organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Pamela Tikku said that we look forward to a long-term relationship to develop the skills required for the industry based on collaboration in the emerging field of electric mobility and also look forward to the skill enhancement of ICAT resources. Prof. Nupur Prakash in his speech said, “Bringing together ICAT’s expertise in automotive technology with NCU’s excellence in content development will result in flexible course packages for interested candidates, enabling them to prepare for the multiple fields available in the automotive sector in India.” International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) based in Manesar since 1996 is a division of NATRiP (NAB) Implementation Society (NATIS) under Ministry of Heavy Industries.

It is one of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) independent testing agencies notified by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India for testing and certification of automobiles and their safety critical components. NorthCap University (NCU) was established in 1996 in Gurugram. NCU is a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) ‘A’ accredited university. The university is ranked among the top 100 in the engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The institute has also been recognized as the best performing university in the top 30 universities and recognized universities category in India in the 2021 Overall Ranking of Institutions in Innovation (ARIIA). The university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as engineering, management, applied sciences and law.

NCU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), UK. In addition to being a member of the American Society for Quality (I) Pvt Ltd, NCU is accredited by the Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), UK, in the ‘Premier’ university category with ‘commendable’ grades.
