Governance Focus: PM Modi delivered the main corridor and five sub-sites to the nation at the Pragati Maidan

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi delivered to the nation the main corridor and five sub-sites of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Project in New Delhi today. The Integrated Transit Corridor project is an integral part of the Pragati Maidan Redevelopment Project. Union ministers Shri Piyush Goyal, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Shri Som Prakash, Smt Anupriya Patel and Shri Kaushal Kishore were among those present at the event. Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister called the project a great gift from the central government to the people of Delhi. He said the tunnel was part of a campaign to transform the Pragati Maidan into the 21st century. He recalled the enormity of the challenge of completing the project due to traffic congestion and epidemics. He thanked New India’s new work culture and staff and engineers for completing the work. “This is a New India that solves problems, takes on new promises and works hard to deliver on those promises,” the Prime Minister said.

For the first time, the Prime Minister emphasized that any government should consider the importance of urban planning on such a large scale. Work is being done to provide better services to everyone, from the urban poor to the urban poor. Shri Narendra Modi said the country is creating multimodal communication through the vision of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. Gati Shakti is a farmer for Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, he said. Speaking at the event, the Minister of Trade Unions for Trade and Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Distribution and Fabric Distribution, Shri Piyush Goyal said it was the result of Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to making life easier that the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Project has today completed. “This is a good example of the saying, ‘Modi hai to mumkinhai’ (Modi makes it happen).”

Shri Goyal said the tunnel is a good example of AatmaNirbhar Bharat as all the construction and design of the tunnel was done by our engineers. “We have made systematic changes to the integrated planning and performance of public works during its construction, the replacement of resources alone amounts to Rs 32 crores,” he said. Shri Goyal said the tunnel is part of the ITPO site redevelopment program in Pragati Maidan and that the state-of-the-art conference and exhibition center will be ready for the presidency of India for the G20 Summit in December next year chairperson of PM Modi. “The center will showcase Indian skills, modernity and environmental sensitivity,” he said.

Citing India’s success at the recently concluded Twelve WTO Ministerial Conference where India opposed the cause of developing and developing countries, Shri Goyal said Prime Minister Modi had given India a place in the top table in the international community. “The fame that Indians are experiencing today around the world is a symbol of the New India and Aatma Nirbhar appearing as the voice of the world,” he said. Under the auspices of Prime Minister Modi, Shri Goyal said India had raised the issue at the hands of WTO Ministers. “On the other hand WTO and multilateralism have improved, with India hitting the front foot, exposing the obvious to the world and affirming the interests of our farmers, fishers and MSMEs,” said Shri Goyal, adding, “Checks are included Illegal fishing in the sea and our fishers will have complete freedom in our EEZ. Similarly, we have made sure that the MSP remains stable and the interests of our farmers are protected. “

Complaining about the Delhi Government’s indifference towards the Pragati Maidan Corridor, Shri Goyal said unfortunately the National Government ignored the repeated reminders to fulfill its 20% cost of the project. “While the National Government was showing signs of independence, Prime Minister Modi announced that the Central Government would bear the full cost of the project,” he said. Shri Goyal said the timing, direction and concern shown by Prime Minister Modi regarding the project was a reflection of his compassion for the people of Delhi.
