MLA’s office shut-in by Anganwadi Workers in Gurugram

Gurugram: Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla’s office was under gherao and protests by anganwadi workers on Friday, who tried to get in through the barricades as the police tried to control the situation. The agitated protesters warned that they will start a dharna outside the MLA’s office from Saturday.

With a demand for salary hikes and service issues, the anganwadi workers have been protesting for the past 17 days. The protesters claimed that they waited for the MLA to talk to them for almost two hours but the MLA did not listen to their problems and left his office from the back door. When asked, Shri Sudhir said, had gone for some programme and will meet them next day, and will talk to the CM about their demands. Meanwhile, the protesters are being supported by an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dr Sarika Verma.
