Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin Urges Center to Exempt State from NEET Again

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has once again urged the Center to scrap the state’s National Eligibility Test-Harbor for admission to medical colleges and undermine the system at the national level.

In his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on NEET exemption for the state, he said the selection process for vocational courses should be based on 12th standard marks and not a separate entrance test which adds unwanted stress. in students.

MK Stalin says “In this case, we have unanimously passed a bill in our legislature to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET and medical admissions based on 12 standard marks. It has been sent for the assent of the President, but the assent is still awaited”.

He also wrote to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi seeking support for Tamil Nadu’s demand for NEET exemption.

The recent irregularities in the NEET exam have confirmed that the country is against it. “Many other countries have also started voicing their views on the need to abolish this general election process,” the Prime Minister told the Prime Minister.

In view of the above, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Friday passed a unanimous resolution urging the Union government to pass a bill to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET and amend the National Election Commission Act. level,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate letter to his colleagues in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Telangana and West Bangladesh, Mr. Stalin asked them to consider taking a similar resolution in their respective assemblies to scrap NEET.

MK Stalin also says “Considering the importance and seriousness of the issue, I request you to pass a similar resolution in your legislature and also urge the Union government to abolish the NEET exam for the benefit of the students of our country”.

Also, Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter and spoke about the decision taken in the State Assembly.

“Recent reports of exam irregularities by NTA has dashed the dreams of many aspirants to medical courses in the country. This system is depriving poor rural youth from pursuing their dream of a medical degree.” Stalin said in his letter to Mr. Gandhi.

He said the Tamil Nadu legislature had passed a resolution demanding exemption from the central NEET exam and had a copy of the same.

“I request you to express this concern and desire of Tamil Nadu in the Parliament and I also recommend that the same resolution be passed in the Assembly belonging to the states of the Union of INDIA for the benefit of Turkmen youth,” Mr. Stalin said to Mr. Gandhi.
