Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Imposes Ban on Open Sale of Meat and Eggs, Launches Campaign for Strict Enforcement

In a groundbreaking move, newly appointed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, has declared a comprehensive ban on the open sale of meat and eggs in the state. The decision follows the recent implementation of stringent food safety rules and guidelines mandated by the Government of India. Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that these regulations will be strictly adhered to, marking a significant step towards enhancing food safety standards.

Addressing a press conference in Bhopal after his first cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yadav detailed the upcoming enforcement measures. A comprehensive campaign, involving collaboration between the food department, police, and local urban bodies, is set to be launched from December 15 to 31. This initiative aims to ensure the effective implementation of the ban on the open sale of meat and fish across the state.

In addition to the ban on open sales, Chief Minister Yadav issued a directive addressing another significant concern — the use of loudspeakers at religious places. Beyond permissible decibel levels, the directive restricts the volume of loudspeakers, aiming to maintain a peaceful soundscape in the vicinity of religious establishments.

To ensure the success of these measures, each district will establish a dedicated flying squad tasked with monitoring sound levels from loudspeakers and DJ systems in religious places. This move reflects the government’s commitment to strike a balance between public practices and maintaining a harmonious environment.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Yadav shared plans to upgrade government colleges, designating at least one institution in each district as a ‘PM College of Excellence.’ Equipped with modern facilities, including smart class seminar halls and hostels, these upgraded colleges aim to provide enhanced educational resources to students.

Taking a strong stance against crime, Chief Minister Yadav instructed police officials to closely monitor individuals who commit fresh offenses while on bail. He stressed the importance of revoking bail for such individuals and ensuring they face legal consequences, reinforcing the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order.

These far-reaching decisions were made during Chief Minister Yadav’s inaugural cabinet meeting, signaling a proactive and transformative approach to governance. The measures are poised to not only enhance food safety standards but also foster an environment of responsible and considerate practices in public spaces.

As Madhya Pradesh sets the stage for these bold initiatives, Chief Minister Yadav’s administration appears poised to make significant strides in ensuring the well-being and harmony of the state’s residents.
