The youngest member of the Indian contingent, 14-year-old squash player Anahat Singh, will take on Jada Ross of St Vincent and the Grenadines, while the men’s and women’s table tennis teams will compete in the qualifiers.

To top it all off, India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in the mixed team badminton (group stage) and boxer Shiva Thapa kicking off the boxing competitions. This along with several swimmers and sportsmen will make for a stellar opening day for India at CWG 2022.India is currently ranked fourth in the all-time CWG medal table. At the 2022 Birmingham Games, they will be looking to at least match their haul of 66 medals from the previous Gold Coast edition as sports like archery and shooting, traditionally strong disciplines for India, did not find a place at the Games.India finished third in Gold Coast, with as many as 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze medals in their kitty.
