Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav move by the Government of India to celebrate 75th anniversary of the development of India

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is organizing a one-day event on 10 June 2022 at the Habitat Center, New Delhi, to mark the positive conclusion of ongoing celebrations in 75 locations across the country, to track transformation in three business categories. Markets need freedom, broadly, in three stages of business – starting a business (free entry), continuing business (free competition) and quitting business (free exit). The Code of Inadequacy and Theft, 2016 provides a market-oriented, time-bound solution to the problem of insolvency, whenever possible, or exit, wherever necessary, and thus ensures lasting freedom, freedom to go out, easy to do business.

Honorable Chairman of the Court Ashok Bhushan, the National Company Legal Complaints Forum will handle the event as the Chief Guest. Shri Rajesh Verma, Secretary, Department of Business Affairs; Shri Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Indian Competition Commission; and Shri Praveen Kumar, DG & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs will be the Guest of Honor at the event. The conference will be followed by the Insolvency Professional Conclave.A large number of participants in the IBC ecosystem, from across the country, including debtors, registered accountants, economists, lenders, service providers, researchers, students, professionals, administrators, academics and government officials are expected to join the Conference both physically and internet mode.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is a move by the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate the 75th anniversary of the development of India and the glorious history of its people, culture and prosperity. Since the start of the AKAM celebrations which began on March 12, 2021 by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The IBBI has organized many activities and events as part of Mahotsav. The book, “Anusandhaan: Exploring New Perspectives on Insolvency” contains 26 research papers from the international research conference organized by the IBBI and IIM Ahmedabad recently also scheduled for release at the start of the Conference.
