In a delightful turn of events for Bollywood enthusiasts, Govinda has officially confirmed his reconciliation with filmmaker David Dhawan, marking the end of their reported fallout. The revelation came after the actor was seen engaging in conversation with David Dhawan at Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali party.
Speaking to Bombay Times, Govinda expressed his joy over the warm reception from fans who eagerly anticipate their collaboration once again. “I am glad people still feel that we should work together. Yeh unka pyaar hai (It is their love). Our patch-up had already happened. This was our second meeting. It was a Diwali bash where we ate good food and had a great time,” Govinda shared.
The actor emphasized the importance of not dwelling on the past, stating, “We don’t believe in raking up the past. Why mull over it? That’s not necessary. Let bygones be bygones.” During their recent interaction, Govinda and David focused on reliving happy memories, keeping the conversation light and positive.
Govinda also shed light on his rare appearance at Bollywood parties, highlighting that Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali party was an industry event rather than an exclusive group gathering. He expressed his belief in avoiding social categorizations, stating, “If you are not seen at these parties, it is assumed that you aren’t social, which is wrong. I am not anti-social at all, and I don’t believe in groups.”
Reflecting on the past, Govinda dismissed the notion of being part of a specific group in the 90s, despite associations with Shakti Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and David Dhawan. According to him, they were simply artists working together, challenging the notion of exclusive cliques in the industry.
Govinda and David Dhawan, a dynamic filmmaker-actor duo, delivered numerous blockbuster movies and chart-topping songs in the 1990s and 2000s. The announcement of their patch-up has stirred nostalgia among fans who fondly remember iconic films like “Raja Babu,” “Coolie No. 1,” “Hero No. 1,” and many more. The actor’s recent social media post, humorously referencing two “wives” from the past, further added a touch of charm to their renewed camaraderie.
