Goods train derails in Aluva, Kerala

Kochi (Kerala): On Friday night, a goods train derailed at Aluva railway station, in Kerala. Four wagons of the train derailed, affecting the train services on the route.

The train was going towards Kollam in Kerala and was carrying cement from Andhra Pradesh.

“We hope to restore the services very soon. Already some services are on. One line is already operational. We hope to restore the services on the second line by 9 am,” said R Mukund, Railway Divisional Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division. The reason for the incident is yet to know.

Reportedly, 11 trains have been cancelled because of the accident.
