Shri Piyush Goyal reviews progress made under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Distribution and Fabric, Shri PiyushGoyal hosted a review meeting with PM GatiShakti and Shri V K Tripathi, Chairman, Board of Railways, Drs. Sanjeev Ranjan, Secretary, Department of Ports, Transport and Waterways. Shri Rajiv Bansal, Secretary, Department of Public Aviation, Shri. Anurag Jain, Secretary, Department of Industry Promotion and Internal Trade and senior officials from all other Ministries / Departments of Infrastructure. The PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) is an integrated plan that reflects all the existing and proposed Departmental / Departmental development plans for better co-operation.

The NMP will assist in achieving the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ goal by providing visibility to the various stakeholders involved in infrastructure development. It will integrate the infrastructure programs of the various Ministers and Provincial Governments. Economic Areas such as textile collections, drug cartels, protective corridors, power parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, agricultural areas etc. they will also be included under the main program. This will boost economic growth, attract investors and improve national competitiveness. During the presentation by the Special Secretary, the Department of Transport, DPIIT, the department’s smart progress was discussed on the objectives set by Prime Minister GatiShakti. The Department of Road Transport and Highways has completed 1,41,190 Kms of National Highways from 31 March 2022 to the target of 2,00,000 kms of 2024-25.

suggestions and support for EGoS

It was noted at the meeting that the institutional framework has been implemented. Accordingly, the executive body – the Executive Secretariat (EGoS) under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary is set up to approve any changes to the Master Plan to meet any emerging needs. The Multimodal Network Planning Group (NPG) has been deployed through a variety of Ministry Ministries / Departments’ infrastructure involving the heads of the Network Planning Division to co-ordinate and integrate proposals and support EGoS. Existing countries and institutional establishments have been established in the provinces to direct and reflect the concept of PM GatiShakti. The Strategic Secretariat is made up of 25 provinces, the Network Planning Group operates in 9 provinces and the Technical Support Unit has been established in 6 provinces. The capacity building of Central / Departmental and Provincial Government officials has been completed.

Benefits and purpose

The benefits and actual impact of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan portfolio have also been demonstrated. Various services / departments and provincial governments have begun using this portal to integrate and harmonize implementation initiatives, cost development and time in the planning phase of infrastructure projects. To achieve its goal of providing 50 Mbps of bandwidth to citizens under the National Broadband Mission, planning to connect all OFC-free towers was done through PM GatiShakti NMP. All non-fiberized towers and the existing OFC network are included in the map of the GatiShakti Portal Telecommunications Department. Based on the data and planning terms, the tool is developed to determine the required OFC length and OFC Laying costs.

The portal was also used by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), the Department of Railways to strengthen East-West, East-Coast and North-South Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) compliance to reduce disruption, costs. and overtime in project implementation. To meet the growing need for air connectivity, the Ministry of Civil Aviation AAI (MoCA) has used this portal to identify land acquisition needs, land use analysis and road connectivity to expand Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. AAI has benefited from timely planning, and cost savings as the use of this portfolio has replaced the need for practical testing.

Power of PM GatiShakti NMP

Highlighting the powers of the Prime Minister Gati Shakti NMP, the Minister emphasized that the development of multidisciplinary communication in various sectors of the economy will ensure the smooth transition of goods and people. PM GatiShakti’s NMP site will provide a bird’s eye view of infrastructure and facilitate better network planning and faster authorization.

He appreciated the positive impact of Prime Minister GatiShakti and commended the good work done by all infrastructure services in an integrated manner to achieve the goals of Prime Minister GatiShakti. Provides future guidance on developing robust project tracking systems, future design based on productive impact and mitigation requirements, collecting feedback to improve portfolio statements and the problems of various stakeholders to develop solutions / conditions of use / activities.
