Florida US Senator Rick Scott has thanked Twitter CEO Elon Musk for “standing up against” anti-Semitism

Florida US Senator Rick Scott has thanked Twitter CEO Elon Musk for “standing up against” anti-Semitism with his decision to suspend US rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West’s microblogging account. In a letter to Musk on Friday, Scott said, “You were right to take this decisive action to prevent acts of violence and hate crimes against the Jewish community that may have been motivated by these disgusting comments and posts on your platform.”

Earlier on Friday, a suspension notice was posted on the rapper’s Twitter account. In the letter, Scott praised Musk’s approach, saying it shows he is “committed to standing up for free speech and properly distinguishing between hate speech and speech that is inconsistent with woke Big Tech values,” reported. Twitter CEO Elon Musk confirmed the 22-time Grammy Award winner’s suspension from the platform on Twitter. “I tried my best. Despite this, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. The account will be suspended.” Musk tweeted in response to a user asking for Kanye to be “fixed.”

American entertainment portal ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ reported that the “Praise God” rapper took to the microblogging platform to post a series of controversial tweets that included some of the lyrics between him and Musk. In a tweet that has since been deleted by Twitter, the “Runaway” singer posted an image of what appeared to be a swastika connected to a Star of David.

In a post on Twitter, Elon Musk said: “Just clarifying that his account is suspended for inciting violence, not an unflattering photo of me being thrown by Ari. Honestly, I’ve found the photos to be useful motivation to lose weight!” Earlier this October, the rapper’s Twitter account was restricted due to his anti-Semitic comments. According to Deadline, the rapper was blocked from his Twitter account in response to a tweet shared with him on October 8. The ban followed a similar exile from Instagram.

The 45-year-old rapper’s tweets only added fuel to the fire he created by saying he likes Adolf Hitler on Alex Jones’ “Infowars Show,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The statements didn’t sit well with Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, who deleted a tweet that appeared to support the rapper in response to his anti-Semitic comments, the publication said.
