Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food, Public Distribution and Textiles Shri. Piyush Goyal today attended as the Chief Guest the Inaugural Institute of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kakinada Campus, in Andhra Pradesh. Union Finance Minister, Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman inaugurated the IIFT Kakinada campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman gave special attention and initiative to set up the IIFT campus. A new chapter begins with the establishment of this new campus. He further said that for Indian business to gain more international recognition in the future, expert human resource management is essential. These human resources will be made available through IIFT’s.
With political stability, high competitiveness, collective efforts and a developing economic system, India will become an economic force to be reckoned with in the world. He also said that currently the Indian economy is worth 3.5 trillion US dollars. A developing country can be brought to the level of a developed country with integrated economic growth and joint efforts. With continued efforts, India’s economy will grow tenfold in the next 25 years, by 2047, when we commemorate the 100th year of independence. Development can be achieved by making professional human resources available to the maximum.
He mentioned that the action and special allocation of budgets by the central government under Atman Nirbhar Bharat is making the economic system of the country much stronger and enriched. He also said that Andhra Pradesh is growing a lot in agriculture, fisheries etc. and Andhrapradesh state also has various Special Economic Zones. The minister called for the promotion of local products, artisans, skilled weavers etc. as it is important to support them in every way.
