The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made massive arrangements for the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ to air on Sunday. The 100th episode of Modi’s monthly radio address will be aired at 11 am. The live broadcast of the program on Sunday morning at the UN headquarters will be historic and unprecedented. It will be broadcast in the UN Trusteeship Council Chamber.
BJP targets 4 million seats for ‘Mann ki Baat’
The BJP is aiming to make the 100th episode of Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ radio an “unprecedented” mass outreach program and plans to organize facilities at an average of 100 locations in each constituency across the country for people to listen.
Arrangements have been made in all Raj Bhawans, the official residences of governors and the homes of chief ministers from the BJP or its allies to allow prominent citizens to listen to the programme.
Live broadcast at United Nations headquarters
In a historic moment, the episode will be broadcast live at the United Nations headquarters in New York. “Get ready for a historic moment as Prime Minister Modi’s 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ airs on April 30 in the Trusteeship Hall at the UN Headquarters! The Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations informed about this in a tweet.
“#MannKiBaat has become a month-long national tradition and has inspired millions to participate in India’s development journey,” the Permanent Mission said.
The BJP made arrangements for broadcast in 2000 at the booth level across Odisha and urged the people and other political parties like BJD and Congress to listen to it. This episode will be historic as it is all set to create a world record and elaborate arrangements have been made to reach more and more people, Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal said on Saturday.
Special screening at the Indian High Commission in London
The Indian High Commission in London, UK will hold a special screening of the episode on Sunday at 6:30 am. “@HCI_London is hosting a special screening of #MannKiBaat tomorrow at 06:30. #MannKiBaatAt100. Tune in for the 100th Maan Ki Baat on 30th April 2023,” the Indian High Commission in London tweeted on Saturday.
Studies show that the program promotes inclusivity
Studies have shown that more than 100 million people have connected with Mann Ki Baat at least once, it speaks directly to people, celebrates people engaged in grassroots change and people’s achievements, and has influenced people to take positive action. An IIM Rohtak survey reported that 23 million regular listeners of Mann Ki Baat and 96 percent of the population were aware of the radio program.
Modi’s strong and decisive leadership and emotional connection with the audience were cited as reasons for the programme’s popularity with listeners, the survey said.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said the radio program has turned into an “inspirational platform” that promotes sustainable progress on priority topics that are at the heart of India’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The aim of the study was to conduct a quantitative and qualitative textual analysis of 99 transcripts of Mann Ki Baat episodes published between 2014-2023 using text mining tools and also to identify the most heavily discussed thematic areas in the programme.
Ministry of Tourism Plans “100 Days of Action”
From an all-India design challenge for entrepreneurs to develop substitutes for single-use plastic items to visiting youth at lighthouses, the Union Ministry of Tourism has planned ‘100 Days of Action’ to mark the 100th episode of Mann ki Baat telecast. The ministry will celebrate the 100th episode through its Yuva Tourism Clubs.
The ministry has created 30,000 Yuva travel clubs till date, adding that it proposes to increase the number to 50,000 within 100 days starting May 1. Modi has mentioned tourism on “Mann ki Baat” from time to time.
