Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann got into the festive spirit in Gujarat on Saturday – like the rest of the country – as he performed some Garba moves at an event in the city of Rajkot. Not just him, his party colleague – Raghav Chada – was also seen joining a dance troupe amid the festivities in Vadodara. Videos showing Mann on stage at the Gujarat event were widely shared on social media. Interestingly, after a few moments of Garba, he broke into Bhangra moves. Garba – a form of dance that is the pride of Gujarati – takes the celebrations up a notch during Navratri hoda, the nine-night Hindu festival honoring the goddess Durga.
Meanwhile, Raghav Chadha, AAP MP from Punjab, shared the video on his Twitter account and wrote in Hindi, “Today in Vadodara, at the end of the day, attended the Garba. I prayed for everyone’s well-being.” Earlier in the day, he had tweeted a picture with Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as he flew to Gujarat, where elections are being held in a few months. “Onward to Gujarat,” he wrote.
Aam Aadmi Party leaders have been campaigning extensively to expand their footprint in the poll-bound state. Among others, Arvind Kejriwal is visiting the state where the BJP has been in power for almost 27 years. The two sides have recently been embroiled in bitter disputes. Earlier this week, Kejriwal shared photos of sharing food with a sanitation worker from the state.
