PMBI is committed to ensuring the uninterrupted availability of essential medicines to PMBJKs. In its eight-year journey, from the annual revenue of Rs. 8 Crore in 2014-15, PMBI closed its highest monthly sales revenue of Rs. 100 Crore in May, 2022 which saved about Rs. 600 crore of country citizens. In May, 2021, the total sale was Rs. 83.77 crore and that was the second wave of COVID-19. People have been able to reduce their consumption without a prescription through government intervention in this wonderful program. Currently, these Kendras make more than 1600 medicines and 250 surgical machines including healthy food, Ayush products and Suvidha Sanitary pads for Rs. 1 / – per pad.
With a view to providing quality medicines at affordable prices to ordinary people especially the poor, Government. set the target of increasing the number of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan aushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) to 10000 by March 2024. By 31.05.2022, the number of shops has increased to 8735. Under the PMBJP, 739 regions of the country have changed. covered.
Under the PMBJP, new applications were also invited to place 3579 blocks in 406 districts to provide standard medicine for Jan Aushadhi Kendras to all citizens of the country. Residents of small towns and headquarters blocks can now take advantage of the opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The plan provides compensation of Rs. 5.00 lakh and special benefits up to Rs. 2.00 lakh in various fields including women, SC / ST, Hill regions, Iceland regions and North-Eastern countries. This will ensure easy access to affordable medicines for people in all areas and corners of the country. Similarly, PMBI has strengthened the procurement system by establishing four warehouses in Gurugram, Chennai, Guwahati and Surat. In addition, there is a strong network of 39 distributors throughout India to ensure timely delivery to all parts of India.
