Box office Bholaa: Action and thriller movie with main lead Ajay Devgn and the Tabu opened to ₹11.20 crore

Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, was released on Thursday on the occasion of Ram Navami. The film opened to ₹11.20 crore nett. The action thriller was directed by Ajay Devgn and is a remake of the 2019 Tamil film Kaithi.

Sharing Bholaa’s opening day collection, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Bholaa has a decent first day [Ram Navmi] score… Healthy footfalls during seat bookings – specifically for the evening shows – offset the low turnout in the morning and noon.” shows… ₹ 11.20 crore Thursday. India biz (business). Day 1 biz leans more towards the mass centers with Mumbai staying low… The pace needs to pick up over the weekend to get a respectable number.”

Sharing the collections of the film in national chains, he further tweeted, “Bholaa in national chains… 1st week – 1st day [Thursday]… PVR: ₹ 2.44, INOX: ₹ 1.73, Cinepolis: ₹ 1.03 cr. Total: ₹5.20”

Bholaa also stars Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao, Vineet Kumar, Kiran Kumar and Makarand Deshpande. The film is Ajay Devgn’s last directorial venture after last year’s Runway34, which stars him, Rakul Preet Singh and Amitabh Bachchan.

Bholaa has been styled as the story of “a one-man army, set in one night, fighting a host of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise”. Talking about the film, Ajay told PTI in an interview, “If you do an action without any reason, there will be no response, no matter how good the action is… I don’t think there is a difference between meat and family. audience in terms of emotion. Emotions are universal, just as the emotions of a father and a mother for their children are the same.’

The Hindustan Times review of the film called it a “cunning but soulless” dark thriller. An excerpt from the review read, “Bholaa will give you an adrenaline rush, but if you’re also looking for an equally meaningful story or at least a narrative that delivers some value, Bholaa will disappoint you on many levels. Bholaa, the Hindi adaptation of the Tamil film Kaithi (2019), tries to recreate the same magic, albeit with some flaws.

And there are many! Once again wearing the directorial hat, Ajay Devgn ensures that he brings larger-than-life action to the screen that has not been seen before, or at least not at this level. But in the process, the story is so marginal that you’re actually waiting for something to make sense.”
