A key meeting of top wrestlers led by Bajrang Punia and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur began at his residence on Wednesday morning as the government continued to try to strike a deal with the protesting grapplers against outgoing WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
The meeting was called by Thakur to break the impasse that has been going on for over a month now. This is the second round of meetings between the government and the protesting wrestlers, who met Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday evening.
Wrestlers are protesting Brij Bhushan and demanding his arrest for allegedly sexually harassing seven female grapplers.
