How twitter has changed in providing facilities to user and Elon Musk announce made changes

New management will be appointed

As expected, Musk’s first move was to clean house, starting with Twitter CEO Agrawal, who took the helm at the company last year after co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down. Text messages between Elon Musk and his business partners reveal how frustrated he was with Agrawal’s leadership, even though the two initially tried to work together. Agrawal told Musk on April 9 that his habit of tweeting negative things like “Is Twitter dying? “doesn’t help me improve Twitter”. “What have you been doing this week?” Musk, who at the time was in discussion about joining Twitter’s board, responded. “It’s a waste of time,” he added, saying he would make an offer to buy the company instead.

The complicated relationship between the two may have resulted in Agrawal being fired on the first day of Musk’s ownership. He will probably be replaced by Musk or one of his allies. “Fixing Twitter by chatting with Parago won’t work,” Musk wrote to Twitter chairman Bret Taylor. Musk also expressed displeasure with other Twitter executives, tweeting a meme about Gadd, the company’s top lawyer, calling her an icon of “Twitter’s left-wing bias.” Gadde led the team that decided to ban Trump.

Donald Trump and other suspended accounts could be allowed back

Musk has said for months that his top priority will be preserving free speech on Twitter and restoring access to former President Donald Trump, who was permanently suspended last year after a deadly uprising at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. “I think Elon  Musk will immediately restore his account,” Carusone told TIME earlier this month, “the moment he gets the keys.” Trump has said he will not return to Twitter even if the ban is lifted, having launched his own social media platform, TRUTH Social, earlier this year.

Analysts say other suspended users could be reinstated, including right-wing voices banned from spreading conspiracy theories or hateful rhetoric. Musk had previously told Agrawal via text message that he wanted to remove all permanent Twitter bans “except for spam accounts and those that explicitly advocate violence.”

The Edit button could quickly become standard

Musk has expressed interest in allowing users to edit their tweets, something many users have requested for years. About 74% of his Twitter followers said they supported adding an editing feature, according to a survey he conducted in March.

Among the saved text messages was one from Gayle King, co-host of CBS This Morning, who told Musk she supported the idea of an edit button. Twitter began testing the edit button last month after initially pushing back on the idea, giving early access to Twitter Blue members who pay for its subscription model in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Twitter said the feature will be available to U.S. subscribers soon, but Musk may speed up the process once he’s in charge.

Currently, users with early access to the feature can edit their tweets a maximum of five times – a way to prevent people from changing the original content of their tweets too often. However, there are still concerns that the editing feature could be used maliciously to spread misinformation or malicious messages if users replace their favorite tweets with messages with sinister sentiments.

Musk could try to remove spam bots and redesign Twitter Blue

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Musk is expected to take action against spam bots — or fake accounts — on the platform, which he cited as his main reason for pulling out of the original deal. It’s unclear what he might have planned, but the idea of a blockchain-based Twitter future in which users have to pay a small fee to send messages seemed appealing to Musk at first because bots wouldn’t be able to get past the paywall. . He later said that the idea would not work because “the bandwidth and latency requirements cannot be supported by a peer-to-peer network.”

If he were to go through with the plan to get rid of most Twitter bot accounts, Musk himself would lose an estimated 13.5 million followers, according to an analysis of data by the Scottish digital skills academy CodeClan.

Musk has also been highly critical of Twitter Blue, the company’s subscription service that offers exclusive features like bookmark folders and ad-free articles for $4.99 a month. Jason Calacanis, an entrepreneur and one of Musk’s strategic advisors on Twitter, texted him that Twitter Blue was a “crazy piece of sh-t” and that “these dipsh-ts spent a year on Twitter Blue to give people exactly… Nothing that they want! “
