Shri. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electricity & IT, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India will be in Nagaland for a 3-day official visit, from 4 May 2022.
The Minister will arrive at Dimapur Airport at noon on May 4. He will travel to Kiphire to review the progress of the Indian Government’s Aspirational Program with Regional Management officials followed by a visit to Kiphire Regional Hospital. It is worth noting that the Kiphire aspirational region in Nagaland is ranked first in the health and nutrition sector and second in the infrastructure base among the aspiring regions in the country by 2021.
Launched by the Honorable Prime Minister in January 2018, the Aspirational Districts program aims to quickly and effectively transform 112 underdeveloped regions across the country. Extensive program concerts in Consolidation (Intermediate and Provincial Programs), Cooperation (Intermediate, ‘Prosperity’ District level Managers & District Collectors), and Competitive Regional Competition at regional level delta; it is all driven by the movement of many people. Government is committed to improving the quality of life of its citizens and ensuring inclusive growth – “SabkaSaathSabkaVikasaurSabkaVishwas”
The Minister will visit Jan ShikshanSansthan (JSS), and interview students and the participating faculty. Jan ShikshanSansthan, under the Department of Skills and Business Development aims to provide vocational training for the illiterate, neo-literate students and school leavers in rural areas by identifying relevant market skills in the region. More than two thirds of India’s population includes rural residents.
The MoS will visit Longwa Village on May 5 and hold talks with district officials.
On 6 May, MoS will launch 5 National Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) National Institutions in the North East Region from Dimapur. These Centers are located in Dibrugarh& Jorhat (Assam), Passighat (Arunachal Pradesh), Dimapur (Nagaland), Senapati (Manipur).
The Minister last visited Nagaland in September 2021, when he launched the Software Technology Park at Kohima & 5 NIELIT Centers in the North East region including Churachandpur, Tuibong, Manipur, Mizoram and Kokrajhar Aizawl and Tejpur in Assam on video.
The Minister also visited the Bamboo Group and promised the Pilot Project for Skilling Upskilling Artisans Bamboo. The Department of Skills Development immediately launched the Experimental Project over a 3-month period in December 2021. To date, 4100 artisans have been collected and 3100 registered in 100 collections distributed in 4 works – Bamboo Utility Handicrafts, Bamboo Basket Maker, Artisan Woodworking Artist.
