Science and technology should be used to help all people and to solve their problems – Deputy President

The Deputy President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu today emphasized the need to use science and technology to benefit all people and to solve their oppressive problems. He also said that ‘science should serve the purpose of the community and not the minority of the elite’, and he wanted the aspirations and goals of the people to set the agenda for the advancement of science and technology.

The need to apply science and technology

Speaking at the convention after the release of a book entitled “Dr. Y. Nayudamma: Articles, Speeches, Notes &Others ”at the Swarna Bharat Trust, Atkur, near Vijayawada today, Shri Naidu said science and technology should not turn people into slaves. The book, published as part of the 100th Birthday of a well-known scientist, Dr. YalavarthiNayudamma, compiled and edited by the former Tax Commissioner, Dr. Chandrahas and Drs. K. Seshagiri Rao.

Goals and objectives

Recommending the opinion of Drs. Concerning the future of science and technology, the Deputy President said he wanted the use of science and technology for the common good, driven by social norms. “He outlined a clear set of goals and objectives and values that should guide its use as tools to improve people’s lives and as a catalyst for change in economic development,” he added.

Scientific and Technological tools

Highlighting the importance of Drs. Y. Nayudamma, Shri Naidu advised all stakeholders to read this book in order to develop a better understanding of various issues and concerns about the pursuit and use of scientific and technological tools. He also suggested that the publication be part of a curriculum for high school students so that emerging scientists could gain a better understanding of it and begin learning.

The Vice President described man as a ‘technological beast’

Commenting on rapid progress in the fields of science and technology, in particular, during the last two centuries, the Deputy President said that man should now be called a ‘technological beast’. He also noted that the constant search for a better life has resulted in serious issues and concerns about purpose, relationships, values and the consequences of improper pursuits and the application of science and technology. He expressed deep concern over the rapid depletion of resources, environmental inequality and inequality as a result of global development strategies, and called for other forms of sustainable and sustainable development.

Explaining Drs. Nayudamma as a social reform agent who demonstrated how scientists and experts can be effective agents of such change, Deputy President said that science conducted in ivory towers may not apply to humanity. Shri Naidu, a tannery industry in South Africa, said the traditional activities were looked down upon by some because of the smell and function.

Drs. Nayudamma thoroughly researched such issues and was able to make the project more widely accepted by allowing the removal of odors and improving the skills of those involved. Noting that his work has helped to boost economic efficiency in the tanning industry, the Deputy President emphasized that ‘science and technology should create the most lucrative jobs’.

Calling knowledge the best resource for everyone, Shri Naidu has called for the need to empower all with it. “We need to provide such information that will enable us to solve our nation’s problems together,” he said.

The spirit of nationalism

Noting that man thrives only in his sense of social cohesion and a place of struggle together, the Deputy President said that such a natural system is best provided if we are guided by the spirit of nationalism. “Nationalism, therefore, has a positive impact on the rapid development of our nation by recognizing the full potential of all. It is not a bad thing as it needs to be distributed by some people, ”he said.

Referring to the emphasis of Drs. Nayudamma in his self-confidence, Shri Naidu said he does not support the westward approach to importing technologies and solutions as western medicine will not be able to solve Indian problems, differences and specific situations. This is the essence of the Atmanirbhar Bharat program, he added.

Achievements of Drs. Nayudamma

• Praising the many achievements of Drs. Nayudamma, Shri Naidu said he became Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research at a young age of 49 in 1971 and was honored with the Padma Shri that same year. “It is rare to find far-sighted and visionary scientists like Drs. Y. Nayudamma. If he had lived longer, our country would have gained more, ”he added.

Calling for concerted efforts to make India ‘Vishawaguru’ again, he wanted everyone to participate in this effort by successfully implementing our educational programs, scientific methods and research.
