The action drama “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has become one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2023. Since its release on December 22 in multiple languages, the film has achieved a thunderous opening at the box office and is approaching the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide.
Despite facing competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” “Salaar” has been a box office sensation, captivating audiences across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi-speaking regions. While the film has experienced a gradual decline in collections during weekdays, industry insiders anticipate a surge in momentum during the upcoming weekend.
Trade reports suggest that “Salaar” is expected to make an official announcement regarding its impressive box office figures soon. The film’s six-day total collection in India has reached Rs 297.40 crore, with an estimated Rs 17 crore net earned on December 27 alone.
In an exclusive interview with Aanworld reporter, Prithviraj Sukumaran commended Prabhas, describing him as a talented actor who, despite his laid-back demeanor off-camera, is sharply focused and in tune with his character during shooting.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, known for “KGF,” “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire” features an ensemble cast, including Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, and Bobby Simhaa. The film’s second part, titled “Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam,” is yet to commence shooting.
As “Salaar” continues its remarkable box office journey, fans eagerly await the official announcement of the film’s worldwide collection, which is anticipated to surpass the Rs 500 crore milestone.
