AR Rahman hosted a wedding party for his daughter Khatija Rahman who tied the knot on the sofa with sound engineer RiyasdeenShaik Mohamed last month. The reception was held in Chennai on Friday and was attended by a few friends from the Rahman industry and colleagues. Some artists also perform live on stage during a music night. Honey Singh and Sonu Nigam were among the music industry who attended the wedding and blessed the bride and groom. Sharing the night photo on Instagram, Honey Singh wrote on Instagram, “Best wishes to the blessed couple and congratulations to all the families and followers of AR RAHMAN !! @arrameen @arrahman. “
At the reception, Khatija wore a purple lehenga while Riyasdeen wore a black suit and bowtie. AR Rahman was wearing a kurta-pajama paired with a blue jacket while his son Ameen was wearing a black sherwani.
Filmmaker Sandeep Singh also shared a night music video. The venue was illuminated with blue and peaches while the performers took to the stage to perform live. He also posted a video on his Instagram Stories page to discuss the delicacies served at the event.
Meanwhile, Khatija shared her wedding video on Instagram. He married Riyasdeen on May 5 and all close family members and friends were part of the wedding. He also wrote a video, “With the prayers and blessings of my grandparents and our families. On my big day (May 5) with @riyasdeenriyan. This would not have been possible without the support of my family and my dear group.”
Earlier, Rahman had announced his daughter’s wedding with a family photo from the event on May 5. The eldest daughter of music composer Raheema, his wife SairaBanu, and his son Ameen are also pictured.
