Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday the AamAadmi Party (AAP) government would provide electricity subsidies to only those citizens of the country’s capital who would like the same. As of October 1, only those selective buyers will be supported”he said at an online forum.

Currently, consumers in Delhi receive a “zero” power bill of up to 200 power units and a subsidy of ₹ 800 for the use of 201 to 400 units of electricity per month.

Explaining that the Delhi Cabinet approved the Delhi Implementation Policy, the AAP meeting said, “We are committed to making Delhi the capital of India.” As part of the policy, the youth of Delhi will receive business start-up assistance in the national capital through financial assistance from the government.
