Director-writer Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri shared an exciting development, revealing that the script of his film, ‘The Vaccine War,’ will soon be a permanent part of The Oscars Library’s core collection. Vivek Agnihotri shared a screenshot of an email he received from The Academy, marking this prestigious recognition.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), Vivek expressed his pride, stating, “I am proud that the script of The Vaccine War has been invited and accepted in the Academy Collections by the library of Oscars.org. I am happy that for hundreds of years, more and more serious people will read this great story of Indian superheroes.”
The email from the managing librarian at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, dated October 3, conveyed their interest in acquiring a copy of ‘The Vaccine War’ screenplay for their permanent Core Collection. Materials in this collection are exclusively available for study in their reading room, with strict restrictions on circulation and copying. The library serves as a research resource open to students, filmmakers, writers, and individuals with a general interest in cinema.
The email further requested a PDF of the shooting script, emphasizing that such files would be digitally accessible only within their reading room and behind their firewall.
‘The Vaccine War,’ which had a theatrical release in September, received mixed reviews. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, and Anupam Kher, among others. The story revolves around Indian scientists’ remarkable efforts in battling COVID-19 and developing a vaccine to combat the virus, celebrating their triumph in the face of the pandemic.
