Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2 has entered the ₹50 crore domestic box office club. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, OMG 2 grossed ₹12.06 crore on its fourth day of release. The number is higher than what the film earned on its opening day.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Taran shared the poster of OMG 2 with Akshay. He wrote, “OMG 2 has a super solid Monday – the day that makes or breaks movies… Monday higher than Friday, speaks for itself… Fri ₹10.26 crore, Sat $15.30 crore, Sun $17.55 crore, Mon 12 .06 million dollars. Total: ₹55.17 crore. India biz (business).
He also added, “Sure, OMG is a brand, but the love that OMG 2 is getting is reflected in its BO (box office) numbers… This franchise has only strengthened its position in the eyes and hearts of moviegoers.” OMG 2 earned ₹10.26 million on its first day of release, ₹15.3 million on day two and ₹17.55 million on day three. Currently, the film’s total collection stands at ₹55.17 crore.

Written and directed by Amit Rai, the film was released in theaters last week on Friday. OMG 2 features Pankaj Tripathi as a devotee of Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal. Akshay essays the role of a messenger of God and Yami Gautam plays a lawyer.
OMG 2 is produced by Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo. It touches on various teenage issues and the importance of sex education. Presented by Viacom18 Studios, the film is considered a spiritual sequel to OMG – Oh My God. It starred Akshay and Paresh Rawal and was released in 2012.
MAI, PGI welcome latest movie releases including OMG 2
On Monday, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and the Producers Guild of India (PGI) in a joint statement felicitated recent releases including OMG 2. More than 2.3 million theater tickets were sold in the last few days. box office collections swelled to nearly ₹400 crore in the busiest single weekend for cinemas and multiplexes since Covid-19.
From Rajnikanth starrer Jailer to Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2 to Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 to Shankar Chiranjeevi and Tamannah Bhatia’s Bholaa, films set the box office bells ringing from August 11-13. The statement said that the “combined box office gross (was) ₹390 crore for the weekend across all theaters in India,” reflecting the good times at the theatres. It is a “new record for total gross theatrical performance” in its 100-year history, he added.
