Late Night Shootout in Noida Police Nab Notorious Robber Recover Stolen Goods

A dramatic late-night encounter in Noida’s Sector 58 led to the arrest of Sonu alias Mota, a notorious 22-year-old robber involved in multiple criminal cases. The incident unfolded near Rabbit Park around midnight on Wednesday, during a routine security check led by the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner’s team.
When police officers noticed Mota approaching on a motorcycle, they signaled him to stop. Instead, he attempted to flee, firing at the police as he sped away. The police responded, injuring Mota in the shootout. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is now in police custody.
Mota was found with a stolen motorcycle, a pistol, five mobile phones, and several cartridges. Police suspect the items were taken during previous robberies in Noida. ADCP Manish Mishra highlighted that Mota is a wanted criminal linked to six robbery and theft cases across the city. His accomplices managed to escape, but the police are actively searching for them.

Calling this encounter a “significant breakthrough” in their efforts to reduce crime, the police have vowed to continue their patrols and security checks. They encourage residents to report any suspicious activities, assuring the public that the crackdown on Mota’s gang is a crucial step in securing the area.
The police are also investigating Mota’s network and tracking any other stolen goods connected to his criminal activities.
