The Minister of Finance and Trade Unions Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman attends FATF Ministerial Conference in Washington D.C. on 21 April 2022, it was held in conjunction with the spring meetings of the 2022 World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The meeting focused on providing the Minister with strategic direction, approving the FATF priorities for 2022-24 and strengthening the Minister’s commitment to ensuring appropriate support for key delivery initiatives that strengthen the FATF Global Network, FATF’s Mutual programs. Evaluating, Improving the Transparency of International Benefits, Enhancing Skills for Successful Recovery of Criminal Assets, Using Digital Transformation, Ensuring Continued Support for FATF Priorities.
During the Summit, the Minister of Finance reaffirmed India’s commitment to Combating Fraud, Terrorism Funding and Increase and acknowledged and thanked FATF for their role in Transparency Benefits, Acquisition, and the role of FATF global financial security system.
Smt. Sitharaman extended his support for key issues and said India was committed to providing the necessary resources and supporting the FATF in its efforts as an international coalition to fight money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
