At least 50 NCR Schools Receive Bomb Threats; Security Agencies on High Alert

In a distressing turn of events, at least 50 schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) received bomb threats via email on Wednesday morning. The alarming situation prompted swift action from authorities, who immediately dispatched bomb detection, bomb disposal teams, and fire service personnel to conduct search operations on the affected campuses.

Education minister Atishi urged parents not to panic, assuring them that students had been safely evacuated from the premises. She confirmed that the Delhi Police were actively searching the schools and emphasized that no suspicious items had been found thus far. Atishi also stated that school authorities would maintain communication with parents as necessary.

Security agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, are currently investigating the origin of the threats, with suspicions pointing to a single individual. Several prominent schools in Delhi, including Delhi Public School (Dwarka), Delhi Public School (Vasant Kunj), and Amity School (Pushp Vihar), were among those targeted.

Meanwhile, in Noida and Greater Noida, three schools—Delhi Public School Noida (Sector 30), Delhi Public School (Sector 122), and Delhi Public School (Knowledge Park 5, Greater Noida)—also received bomb threats via email and were promptly evacuated.

According to Deputy Police Commissioner Ankit Singh, the information regarding the threats was received via email early in the morning. Local police and bomb disposal teams swiftly mobilized to conduct thorough searches of the school premises.

Parents were informed of the situation through messages, urging them to arrange for the immediate collection of their children from the respective school gates. Senior officials from the Noida Police were deployed to oversee security measures and ensure the safety of students and staff.

Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Manish Mishra assured that intensive checking was underway, with all students safely evacuated and bomb disposal squads deployed to the affected schools.

As investigations continue into the source of the threats, heightened security measures remain in place across the NCR to ensure the safety and security of educational institutions and their occupants.
