The opening ceremony of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023 was nothing short of a dazzling, star-studded affair. A-list celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor graced the event with their presence, setting the stage for a spectacular evening of cinematic celebration.

Kareena Kapoor, whose upcoming film “The Buckingham Murders” was the festival’s opening night feature, certainly dressed the part. She made a jaw-dropping entrance in a stunning black gown with pink sleeves and heels, exuding glamour and style. The actress posed alongside the film’s director, Hansal Mehta, and producer Ektaa Kapoor, capturing the essence of this prestigious festival.

Kareena’s makeup was subtle, and her hair elegantly tied into a bun, perfectly complementing her overall look. She added a touch of finesse with pink earrings, truly making a statement on the red carpet.

Sharing her excitement about “The Buckingham Murders” premiering at the festival, Kareena took to Instagram, posting images of her stunning attire. Meanwhile, Kareena’s husband, Saif Ali Khan, accompanied her sister and fellow actor Karisma Kapoor on the red carpet. The sibling duo looked regal in white traditional outfits. Karisma rocked a white and black saree, while Saif donned his signature white kurta-pyjama paired with a white Nehru jacket, displaying classic style.

Other celebrities who left a lasting impression on the red carpet included Diana Penty, who donned a striking black power suit with a golden accent on top. Sanya Malhotra also graced the event in an elegant black suit. Couples like Ali Fazal with Richa Chadha and Aditi Rao Hydari with Siddharth walked the red carpet together. The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival returns with a remarkable lineup of over 250 films from around the world, spanning 10 days of cinematic excellence. Held at the Jio World Centre, the festival runs from October 27 to November 5. This year’s selection features an impressive roster of over 40 World Premieres, 45 Asia Premieres, and 70 South Asia Premieres, with a record-breaking 1000 submissions for the South Asia program.

The festival aims to shine a spotlight on contemporary films and emerging cinematic voices from South Asia. The highlight of this year’s festival is the South Asia Competition, aligning with the festival’s vision to become a hub for South Asian and South Asian Diaspora cinema and talent. This competitive section is dedicated to showcasing groundbreaking contemporary South Asian films, promising an exciting cinematic journey for all attendees.
