It is true that more than 90% of the components and technologies of electric vehicles (such as car / controller / converter / Battery Control System / Charger) import into our country unsuitable for our location, road and traffic conditions. Therefore, to address this challenge and increase local productivity, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has embarked on the Indigenous Automotive Development System for Electric Vehicle Systems. Initially, the development of 2W / 3W technology has been taken up as it has an impact on more than 80% of our vehicles.
Indigenous, efficient, affordable and certified BLDC engine and intelligent e-Rickshaws control developed by IIT Kharagpur under the above-mentioned program. Yesterday the technology was transferred to M / s Brushless Motor India Pvt Ltd. to produce commercials before the courtesy of Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, MeitY, Drs. Jaideep Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, MeitY, Smt Sunita Verma, Group Coordinator (R&D in Electronics), MeitY, Dr Somnath Sengupta, IIT Kharagpur and Shri Om Krishan Singh, Scientist D , MeitY. The technology transfer took place as part of India’s Digital Week opened by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on July 4, 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
