January 25, 2024 As preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections gain momentum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off the campaign with an electoral rally in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, on January 25. The rally follows the Ram Lalla ‘Pran Pratishtha Samaroh’ in Ayodhya, indicating a strategic start to the BJP’s election campaign.
Party workers and leaders are actively engaged in organizing the rally, anticipating a substantial turnout in Bulandshahr, especially considering its significance in western Uttar Pradesh. The BJP, which currently holds eight out of 14 seats in the region, suffered defeats in six constituencies during the 2019 elections. PM Modi aims to reverse this trend in the upcoming polls, starting with the rally in Bulandshahr.
The BJP asserts that approximately five lakh people are expected to attend the Prime Minister’s rally, emphasizing the party’s strong presence in the region. The event in Bulandshahr’s Navada village on January 25 is anticipated to set the tone for the election campaign, with PM Modi connecting with voters and supporters, sharing the party’s vision for victory.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, after announcing an alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal for the Lok Sabha polls, expressed the need for further discussions with the Congress to finalize the seat-sharing formula in the state. Emphasizing the importance of a robust “INDIA alliance,” Yadav highlighted winnability as a key criterion in deciding seat allocations.
The Samajwadi Party leader held a meeting in Lucknow with party leaders, including former MPs, MLAs, and MLCs, urging them to ensure the registration of voters supporting the party in the new voter list. Yadav accused the BJP government in the state of removing the names of some party workers from the list.
As the Lok Sabha polls, expected in April-May, draw closer, political dynamics in Uttar Pradesh are evolving with alliances and preparations taking center stage. The electoral landscape is poised for further developments as discussions on seat-sharing and campaign strategies unfold.
