MoD purchase of GeM reaches over Rs 15,000 crore in Fiscal 2021-22

The  ministry of Defense (MoD) procurement orders through the Government e-Market (GeM) website have reached a peak of Rs 15,047.98 crore for the 2021-22 Financial Year. It is a surplus of more than 250 per cent in the last financial year. GeM was launched in August 2016 to redesign the old tender system and bring greater clarity and transparency to government procurement through the digital system. In the short time since its inception, MoD has embraced digital drive and started this approach with full commitment. Despite the many challenges on the ground, the results have been amazing.

MoD is committed to contributing significantly to the Government’s vision of promoting digital literacy and transparency in line with Digital India.
