Mehbooba Mufti has been placed under house arrest to prevent her from Kashmiri Pandit Sunil Kumar

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that she has been placed under house arrest to prevent her from visiting the family of Kashmiri Pandit Sunil Kumar Bhat, who was shot dead by terrorists in Shopian recently.Mufti tweeted pictures of the locked gates of her residence in the Gupkar area here and a CRPF vehicle parked outside. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said the Centre’s “callous policy” led to the targeted killing of Kashmiri Pandits.

“The GOI wants to push the plight of Kashmiri Pandits under the carpet as their callous policies have led to unfortunate targeted killings of those who choose not to flee. Projecting us mainstream as their enemy is why I have been placed under house arrest today.” ” she wrote on Twitter. Mufti said her attempts to visit Bhat’s family in Chotigam were “sunk” by the administration. “The same administration claims that shutting us down is for our own safety, while they themselves visit every nook and cranny of the valley,” she added.
